Christmas in the heart of Draper

1. Everyone arrive at 6pm. I will be there at 5:30 to start decorating. You can come earlier if you want to help me set up the tree. The event is from 6:30-8:30pm, Monday night.

2. Council Chambers
-santa in council room seated next to recorder desk. Line goes along back walls.
-middle of room will be ornament crafts, write santa letters, face painting & tattoos, game of pass the ornament.

3. Lobby
-cookies and water on tables in front of big painting.
-Draper Idol at 6:30
-Magicals at 7:00pm
-box for food drive
-5 balloon artists walking around

Job Duties
-elves to help Santa
-help kids write santa letters
-help kids make ornaments (foam stickers)
-help do face painting and tattoos.
-games

SATURDAY VOLUNTEERS

Hello All of my Good Looking, Talented, Charitable, and Charismatic DYC Members,

Okay, here's the deal. We need all the able volunteers we can get on Saturday morning at 10-12ish.

On Saturday, November 27th, we will be wrapping boxes for the food drive. The Food Bank is running low on barrels, and we need as many boxes as we can get! If you have any boxes, or if any of the establishments you've called can spare boxes, we could really use them!! We also need as much wrapping paper as anyone is willing to donate. You know that really ugly wrapping paper that you've had for years in your Christmas storage that you're just not sure what to do with it? You don't dare wrap a present in it, it's just that ugly. But hey, it was a quarter at Smith's After-Christmas-Sale. Well I've got just the use for you!! If any of you have wrapping paper that you just probably won't use, we would LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Also tape would be wonderful, if you can spare some :)

So SATURDAY, 10 AM, DRAPER LIBRARY. Be there or get outta town! (haha well, if you're not there, I'm logically assuming you're out of town!)

Here is the sample script for calling on the food drive--

Hi, this is ________ from the Draper Youth Council. This year

we are asking Draper businesses to help with the community food drive

by letting us put a box or barrel at their workplace for employees

and customers to bring in food donations. We will take care of the

boxes and remove them at the end of the drive. Could we put a box

at ______________(name of workplace)?

(If they say yes) Thank you! We will bring the box by November 29, our kick off day.

I will call you before we come… We will check the box once a week and gather the donations.

You are welcome to call before that if the box is full, and we will come and empty it.

We will finish our food drive December 21, and remove the container then.

Food drive!!

Here are the business people to contact and ask if we can place a box or barrel
at their business for the food drive. There was some confusion about the sign up.
Each person was asked to sign up for three chamber members and three business
owners not in the chamber. But if we each do 5, we will cover it. If you work at or
have connections with any business, go ahead and ask them, too.

Please try to talk to the person in charge rather than
just leave a message. It may take a few calls. Just make sure they understand
that we will do the work, bring the box or barrel by November 29, and pick up the food at least once
a week. On the 21st, we will pick up the barrel.

Make sure you tell me when me, GILLY, when a business says says YES OR NO.

If you are not totally sure what to say, text me with your e-mail address and I will send you a sample script.
