Susan Edwards of the District has asked the following:

We are working on excusing all of the students on Wednesday, without their parents having to contact the schools. However, our Risk Management has made a request that has not previously been made. They need a note signed by each parent that says:

“I understand the school district will not be providing transportation to the Youth Council event on January 26, 2011 and that my child will be riding with _____________________________.”

Is it possible to have this filled out prior to Wednesday? You may even ask each parent to send a handwritten note with on that day. Thank you!

We will all be able to ride in the Draper City Van to and from the conference. We will spend the entire day at the Sheraton Hotel, listening to speakers and attending workshops on personal and public finance. Lunch will be at 12:15pm and our city officials will join us then. We will listen to one more speaker after which we will either go home at 2:00pm (and return home at 3 p.m.) or head up to the capital for a tour (and return home around 5 p.m.) The tour depends on Greg Hughes’ availability in the afternoon. He usually does the tour with us on capitol hill in the mornings when he is not in meetings but since we are not going to the capitol, his assistant, Megan, is checking on the time. That is what I have for now. I will update you with the arrival home time based on what I hear from Greg Hughes’ assistant.

How to remove yourself from the blog!!!

I had someone ask how to remove themselves from this blog. This wasn't easy to figure out, so I thought I would post this for everyone.

You need to login to your account (username is probably the email address where you are receiving the posts.)
Go to Dashboard (link is in upper right-hand corner)
Then go to settings (link is right there)
Then switch to the Permissions tab (upper left corner)

Then you will see the option to remove yourself from the blog.

I hope this helps!

FOOD DRIVE DUE TUESDAY AT 4

Hey Guys!! So on TUESDAY BY FOUR PM you need to have your barrel or box at VF Factory's back room. By 4 pm Tuesday, you've got to get your barrel or box out of the business, whether it has food or not (don't throw it in the business' garbage/recycle, that doesn't look good). Then, text, email, or call me and tell me that it's done, mission accomplished :)
Thanks for everything guys! You are awesome!!
Love Lots, Gilly! :D

Scholarship Applications are Due Tuesday!

This is a reminder the last day to turn in your scholarship applications to either an advisor or to City Hall is TUESDAY, DECEMBER 21st.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks,
Gwendolyn

DYC on Tuesday!

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are enjoying your break from school.

For DYC this Tuesday, we are finishing the food drive and having fun. Please be sure to deliver your food to VF Factory Mall before 4:00 PM Tuesday. Thanks to everyone who has helped with the food drive, you are incredible!

We will have our meeting from 5:30 - 7:00 PM in the Draper City Hall Chambers. We are going to play games, have a White Elephant exchange, and a cookie exchange. Please bring 1 dozen cookies to share and a white elephant gift that has either been previously loved or cost no more than $3.00 to buy.

It is going to be a great time. Marianne has great ideas for really fun games to play together. If you have friends who may be interested in joining DYC, feel free to have them join in the fun.

As always, if you are not able to make it, either let Samantha Wright or Sierra Maughan know in advance, or post in the comments of this blog.

Thanks!

Gwendolyn

Check Your Food Barrels!

Hey Kids! Don't forget to check your food barrels! When you have food, please
take it to the VF Factory Outlet--they have a spot for us in their back room.
All the employees know who we are and what's going on so just ask if you aren't sure.
Either put your food in one of the barrels there, or stack it nearby.
Gracias!
Gilly!
