Applications for Draper Peer Court

Hi Everyone,

A few of you have expressed interest in applying for the Draper Peer Court. If so, now is the time!

Draper Peer Court is a fantastic organization made up of the finest youth in Draper. We give considerable service to the city and youth in the area and take our roles seriously.

There are a few important dates to be aware of:

All applications must be submitted by August 7, 2010
Interviews will begin August 9, 2010
Peer Court Observation Report must be submitted by August 14, 2010
Peer Court Training at Snowbird runs August 19 – August 21, 2010
The first Draper Peer Court Session will be August 26th, 2010!

DRAPER DAYS VOLUNTEER SHIRTS.. They're soooo hot right now.

For anyone helping at the park this weekend, there is a Draper Days Volunteer shirt with you're name on it! Text Samantha Wright and let her know if you're interested in one. Even if you're not helping you can still have one. I just need your size and then you'll get a way neat lime green shirt. Let me know!

Childrens GAMES

This Friday and Saturday are the children's games. The games are going to be on the South side of the park this year around the baseball diamond. This is different than last year! Wear your DYC shirts and if you could arrive around 5:50 that would be best on the evening shifts, and plan to stay until 8:00 at least. Again, Saturday afternoon shift starts at noon and will go until 2:00. The people I have signed up during these times are as follows.

Children's Parade!

Hi Everyone,

The Draper Days Children's Parade is this Tuesday, July 13th from 5:45 - 8:00 PM! This is always a fun event and very appreciated by the City.

This is one of our 3 mandatory events each year, so plan on being at Draper Elementary at 5:45 PM. It will be a ton of fun.

Samantha Wright is scheduling people as either face painters, parade coordinators, bike decoration helpers, clean-up crew and ice cream servers. Please let her know if you have a preference, and please be flexible if your favorite spot is already taken.

Draper Days!

Hello DYC members!

Draper Days has arrived and as the youth council, we have some responsibilities. Participation in Draper Days is mandatory, and unless your absence is approved beforehand, it will be counted as unexcused. The first order of buisness is the free childrens games in the park. Three shifts will need to be covered.

Friday night July 16 between 6-8pm, Saturday July 17 from noon-2, and Saturday night from 6-8pm.

To stagger volunteers, lets say no more than 12 people per shift until the spots are filled up and then we can allot for more. If you want to do more than one shift you are more than welcome to! PLEASE RSVP very soon to Sam Anderson either through the blog, facebook, or send me a text with your name and the shift you will be taking. My number is 801-573-8059.

More information will follow about Draper Days concerning the Children's Parade as well as the big parade on Saturday. Keep checking the blog! :)
