The Road Home is Cancelled

They have changed their policy this year. No Canyon's School District students under 18 are able to volunteer at the family location in Midvale anymore. This is to protect the youth who live there.

I am sorry for the disappointment. We will discuss the option of helping with the shelter downtown at our next meeting and see if this is something you would like added to the calendar for sometime in January or February.

Thank you for your willingness to serve.

DYC Tonight!

We are doing team building activities (thanks Samantha Anderson) and then taking a haunted canoe ride in the Provo River. We don't want you walking river banks in high heels or getting cold! So, please be sure to wear tennis shoes and dress warm.

We will also discuss a possible DYC leadership retreat on November 12th and 13th. The Clinton Youth Council has invited us to join their leadership retreat, along with 3 other youth councils. It should be fun if we can pull it off. We definitely want your input!

We will leave City Hall promptly at 5:35 PM to arrive on-time for our reservation. Please be on time!

Thanks,
Gwendolyn

Wentworth Activity Minutes

Agenda October 5th:
Time Started: 5:30

Being Prompt

It is very important that all members arrive to meetings on time. Meetings now start at 5:30, fifteen minutes earlier to compensate for the switch to meeting every other week. They also last until 7:00. Please arrive on time, as it makes it very difficult to start without our members.

Haunted Hallows Activity October 25

There was a lady who came to talk to us about Haunted Hallows taking place at Draper Historic Park on October 25. Be prepared to paint faces and work other booths for the event. More information and sign up sheets will be provided at our next DYC meeting (October 19).

Painting Pumpkins

At the Wentworth, we helped the residents decorate pumpkins as room decorations. It went very well.

Planting Bulbs

We also helped out by planting bulbs outside in the front of the Wentworth building. It too, went very well.
